Portfolio Snapshot for Q12026
The March quarter was a difficult one for share markets — and a clear demonstration of why the portfolio is built the way it is. Global and US equities fell sharply as the market finally questioned the returns on the AI investment boom, and long-duration growth companies were hit hardest. Yet the model as a whole fell only about 1.4% — a fraction of the equity market’s decline — because the assets we hold precisely for this kind of environment absorbed most of the blow: private credit and unlisted infrastructure kept compounding, and gold spiked early in the quarter. Capital was largely protected, income kept flowing, and the value rotation we flagged in our 2026 outlook began to play out.
